I'm happy to help with your writing projects in the academic, fiction, or commercial non-fiction areas. This includes line editing, developmental editing, and workshopping first and later drafts of your work. 

I hold an M.F.A. in fiction writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and a Ph.D. in law from Cambridge University, focusing on intellectual property and free speech. I have taught at the graduate level at a number of universities around the globe, and have supervised many research papers over the years. In particular, I enjoy helping students to edit their academic work so it truly shines. I've worked with students from middle school to college to grad school.

Editing

I offer a range of freelance editing services in the academic, fiction and commercial nonfiction areas. I'm happy to discuss your needs and provide competitive rates (see below) for editing services. I'll look at writing samples as well as complete manuscripts.



Teaching / Workshops

I teach and develop in-person and online workshops on writing fiction/nonfiction/academic work as well as with respect to law in the digital age (with an emphasis on intellectual property, privacy, and business law issues.) 

Consulting

 Like many authors with families and day jobs, I understand the challenges of balancing a writing life with "real" life and am happy to consult about the writing life as well as about business issues related to your academic, fiction or commercial nonfiction writing projects. 
Rates for Editing and Associated Services
  • Initial consultations via video-conference, phone or email are free.
  • I currently charge $6.00 per page (double spaced, Times New Roman 12 point font) for developmental/content editing of academic work and $4.00 per page for development/content editing of commercial fiction/nonfiction projects.
  • Rates for line-editing/proofreading will vary by project depending on the manuscript - we can discuss in a free initial consultation
  • Coaching/consulting - free initial consultation and agreed fee for any additional work.
